My repurposed mini wreaths

I love this time of year, and that means it's time to bring out the Christmas decor from storage. As I was going through my mom's storage bins to help her take down fall and put up Christmas, I noticed these candle wreath holders.

Pay no attention to the plastic wrap still on the candle! ;-) It was all I could find to show what it was for. So I kept thinking and thinking and then this is what I came up with.
I tied them together with some white ribbon and hung them up on the wall. There was actually 3 but I used 2. I think I will eventually add the other on to it. So easy!! I'm going to show a picture with the whole setup soon. Happy Holidays!

My $3.99 Christmas Wreath

Hello again and welcome back to This and That Momma!! It's that time again! Christmas!! Time to put up the decor and begin the season! I went shopping yesterday and found this twig wreath for $3.99! I know, how cheap! So I made the purchase and here is what it looks like.

A little boring and rustic but there are endless possibilities. I tried wrapping this red rope with pine cones. But I didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted it to. So I squashed that idea and took some poinsettias that my mom had lying around and just stuck them into the wreath. This is what it looks like now! Purrtty!!

And then when I finally hung it up outside. . . . . .

It looks great!! I love love love it!! I can't wait for Christmas!!

My Version of an UpCylced Tee Tutorial

Hello everyone and once again let me welcome you to This And That Momma! I am super excited as this is my first official post. I started this project because my daughter grew out of an old long sleeve t-shirt and I still had this other t-shirt that she never really wore. So I wanted to combine the two so she could use her t-shirt longer.

This long sleeve was just a little too short and the opening for her neck was getting too be too small. She just has a big brain!! So I cut off the sleeves right above the seam. I took her other short sleeve t-shirt and turned it inside out and pinned it together.

I pinned the sleeves at the seams so that way it looks like two separate shirts. (You could pin and sew at the bottom of the short sleeve also.)
I sewed them together (which was a tight squeeze on the sewing machine) and VOILA!!!!

A short sleeve turned long sleeve for FREE!! Not bad for my first sewing project since I was in high school! at least my daughter will get plenty of use out of it. Come on cold weather!!

Welcome to This and That Momma

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by! Welcome to This and That Momma! This is my first blog (I'm an amateur in these parts), and I wanted to do this to share what projects I have accomplished so that you may do them too! Everything that I do is simple and cost efficient. Thrifty is my middle name (not really. . ) but I try to save money everywhere I can (I'm sure my boyfriend loves that!). I hope you love this site just as much as I love to do these projects!!
